12th Biennial Conference

 

CONFERENCE THEME “Philosophy of Education: Narrowing the Divides” We live in a world that is divided within and between societies, and in ways of thinking and living. The conference theme will explore some of the false dichotomies that have often been present in thinking and writing about education. The conference will be organised around a series of sub-themes in order to move the debate beyond the barriers that such dichotomies can create and perpetuate:

1: Theory / Practice

2: Traditional Knowledge / Scientific knowledge

3: Philosophy / Science

4: Education System (at any level) / Social needs and expectations

5: North / South; East / West; Europe / America

6: Past / Present / Future (Studies in the History of Philosophy of Education)
