There are a number of branches throughout the UK, and the work done there forms an important element in the Society's activities. Branch meetings are a source of new ideas. They also offer opportunities for members to meet each other. Each branch has a secretary who arranges the programme. The pattern of each programme varies. Typically, papers are read and discussed, but sometimes groups meet to discuss published work. The Birmingham and Cambridge branches hold annual residential conferences.
