Setting up a PESGB branch

The work of our branches is an important element in the Society’s activities.  Branch meetings are a source of new ideas and they also offer opportunities for members to meet each other.  Each branch has a secretary who arranges a varied programme of events including speakers, discussions and debates.

The Society is committed to maintaining and developing its programme of branch meetings and conferences. The duties of branch secretary include:

  • establishing a mailing list of people who may be attracted to meetings of the branch
  • organising and advertising a programme of meetings

Branches have considerable autonomy in the organisation of their activities, and costs incurred in relation to speakers at branch meetings can be claimed from the Society.

If you are interested in starting a branch in your local area please contact the Secretary of the Society, Chris Winch.

Guidance for Branch Secretaries on claimable expenses for Branch Meetings and Conferences can be found here.
