This day conference will bring together speakers from different disciplines, including historians, criminologists, philosophers, and philosophers of education, to discuss the pervasive nature of VAWG. It will explore questions such as: How do we address the extraordinary rise in VAWG? How is the silence or silencing of victims to be understood?
The conference aims to examine how philosophy of education may provide a richer understanding of the topic and show ways to promote reflective practice and transformative change on these matters in education. It will examine how we should learn to live amid uncertainty and violence by educating ourselves to find alternative kinds of thinking and response.
